Minding & Bridging the Gaps

You may feel overwhelmed by your access to information.

From social media videos to apps and online courses, it’s a lot.

Where is the information coming from? And to what degree

can you trust what you see and hear?

You may feel surprisingly alone as you walk this path.

While your friends and family have shared their stories

and offered their advice, this is your unique journey.

What’s arising for you? What decisions need to be made?

And how do you choose wisely?
Lydia Fong warmly greets birth and parenthood clients into their online meeting space.
We’re in the process of developing a course
guided by these premises.

Pregnancy and birth are healthy, physiological processes.

Meaningful relationships are cultivated through genuine connection.

Resonant decisions arise through the intellect and embodied presence.

As we reflect on the landscape of birth and parenthood preparation,
we’ve noticed some gaps and are here to help bridge them.
To prepare for birth we’ll explore
• What increases and decreases sensations of pain in labor

• Choosing a birth setting and birth provider who is truly alined with your circumstances and values

• Labor inductions ( because they have become increasingly and concerningly common )

And more

You have likely heard of birth preparation,
but maybe you haven't come across
parenthood preparation.

Given the enormity of this threshold

it's surprising there isn't more discussion about it.

There are things you can consider and contemplate now
to reduce the number and the intensity of unpleasant surprises
on the other side of your baby's arrival.

We draw from Elly Taylor's work,
a rich resource we wish we'd had when we were at this point in our lives.

When we first discovered Elly and Becoming Us
we knew it would become an integral part of what we share with you.

To prepare for parenthood we’ll explore
• How your early life experiences influence your relationships, especially with your partner

• How to make decisions that are most appropriate and resonant for you

• Ways to tend to yourself, your partner, and your relationship as you enter this new territory as parents

And more

Preparing for birth and parenthood is
so much more than gathering information
and utilizing your intellect.

For your preparation to be well-integrated
and of most benefit to you,
you need to land more completely in your body.

When you land more completely in your body,
you become attuned to what is most resonant for you.

And as you become more attuned,
you're also able to cultivate a more meaningful connection
with yourself, your baby, and your loved ones.

An effective way of navigating this unfoldment
is through the practice of Prenatal Supreme Release Yoga.
Prenatal Supreme Release Yoga
• Cultivates inner awareness
Decompresses the spine,
with particular emphasis on the pelvis and the region behind the heart
• Eases discomforts caused by excess tension
• Soothes the nervous system
• Facilitates muscular release, a labor essential
• Encourages inner listening, a parenting and life essential

To ensure these practices are tailored specifically to you and your needs, you’ll also meet with Lydia in a 30-minute video call.
